Best SocialPeta Alternatives

The best SocialPeta alternatives at a glance
The best SocialPeta alternative depends on your budget. Free: Koala Inspector for reading any Shopify store, and Meta's Ad Library for creatives. Under $50 a month: Dropispy at $29.90, PiPiADS and Minea at $49. At the top: AdSpy at $149 for the deepest Meta archive, BigSpy at $149 across ten platforms. SocialPeta publishes no price at all.
That last line is the whole reason this page exists. Here is how the field compares on coverage, price and where the tool actually runs.

Every price above was read off the vendor's own site in August 2026. SocialPeta is the one row with a blank, and that blank is deliberate on their end.

What SocialPeta actually is, and who it is for
SocialPeta is a serious platform and it deserves a fair hearing. Its own site puts the database at more than 1.7 billion creatives across over 80 countries, updated in real time, and names six sectors it serves: games, utility apps, GenAI apps, short drama, e-commerce and brand global expansion. That is a media intelligence product built for teams running user acquisition across many markets at once.
If you are a growth lead at a mobile games studio deciding which creative concepts are working in Japan versus Brazil this quarter, SocialPeta is aimed squarely at you. Same if you are launching an app in twelve countries and need to know which networks your competitors are buying. The breadth is the product, and nothing cheaper on this page matches it.
The friction starts at the checkout, because there isn't one. The site sells through Get Started and Book A Demo buttons, with no plan table anywhere on it. Capterra lists SocialPeta's starting price as "Contact vendor" and records no free trial. That is standard enterprise practice, and it works fine when the buyer is a UA team with a procurement budget. It works badly when the buyer is one person running a Shopify store who wanted to check a price before dinner.
So most Shopify sellers arrive at SocialPeta, look for a pricing page, find a demo form, and leave. If that was your afternoon, the rest of this page is for you.
The cheaper half of the field, with real numbers

1. Koala Inspector
Koala Inspector is a free Chrome extension that turns any Shopify store into a research report while you are standing on it. Open a competitor and you get the active theme with a link straight to it in the Shopify theme store, every installed app grouped by what it does, the full product catalogue with likely best-sellers, prices and price range, estimated traffic and monthly sales, and the store's Google and Facebook or Instagram campaigns. Shop Tracking then watches that store and records what changes: apps added or removed, theme swaps, new products, price moves.
Products, prices, apps and themes reflect what the store actually publishes. Traffic and sales are modelled estimates, so use them to rank stores against each other rather than as accounting.
Pricing: free plan with 15 tokens a month and no card. Premium is $22 a month for 220 tokens, up to 50 tracked stores and priority support. One-time token packs never expire: 10 for $3.99, 25 for $6.99, 100 for $11.99. Full detail on the pricing page.
Best for: any Shopify seller whose real question is about a specific competitor rather than a global market.
2. Meta Ad Library
Meta's own Ad Library is a searchable database of every ad currently running across Meta's products, and it costs nothing. For ads about social issues, elections or politics it also shows spend, reach and funding. It is the honest baseline that every paid Meta tool is measured against.
The catch is that it shows you the present tense and nothing else. A marketer asking r/AskMarketing which Facebook ad spy tool people actually use put it exactly right: the library "doesn't really help you organize or track patterns over time, just shows you what's currently running." They also said the quiet part out loud, which is that they didn't "want to pay for expensive enterprise software when just learning."
Best for: checking whether a specific brand is advertising right now, for free, before you subscribe to anything.
3. Dropispy
Dropispy is the cheapest paid entry point here. Its pricing page lists a genuinely free plan with unlimited monthly credits and basic filters, Premium at $29.90 a month for 150,000 credits, and Business at $249.90 for 1,800,000. Annual billing takes Premium down to $14.90 a month. Its Shop Spy tool does classify the stores behind campaigns, which most creative databases skip.
Coverage is Facebook-shaped and it runs as a web app with no extension, so every question means leaving the store and going back to a dashboard.
Best for: e-commerce creative research on a tight budget. We cover the field in Dropispy alternatives.
4. PiPiADS
PiPiADS built its name on TikTok and now covers Facebook, Instagram, Audience Network, Messenger and Threads as well. Its site lists Basic at $49 a month with 30,000 credits and 2 ad trackers, Advanced at $99 with 100,000 credits and 10 trackers, and Enterprise at $900 with 1,000,000 credits and 100 trackers. A free trial gives you 500 credits to test the filters.
Best for: TikTok-first sellers. More options in PiPiADS alternatives.
5. Minea
Minea covers Meta, Pinterest and TikTok, and its site puts the library at more than 80 million active ads with over 120,000 daily ad and shop updates. Starter is $49 a month, Premium $99, Business $199, with quarterly billing cutting each to $39, $79 and $158. There is no free plan, and a Chrome extension is included.
Best for: sellers who want ad research plus product discovery in one subscription. See Minea alternatives.
6. BigSpy
BigSpy trades depth on any one network for breadth across ten: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter, Pinterest, Yahoo, Google AdMob and Unity, plus around 40 e-commerce sites. Its site claims over a billion ad creatives across 71 countries and 23 languages from nearly 10 million advertisers, which makes it the closest thing on this page to SocialPeta's breadth at a published price.
The free tier is real but small: 5 daily queries, 20 daily downloads, Facebook only, three industry switches a month. Pro is $149 a month for unlimited queries across platforms, and VIP customization is quoted on request.
Best for: anyone who needs a competitor's whole media mix rather than their Meta creatives. See BigSpy alternatives.
7. AdSpy
AdSpy is the deepest single-network archive on this list. Its site counts more than 208 million ads from over 29.8 million advertisers across 225 countries and 88 languages, all Facebook and Instagram. One price, $149 a month, no free plan and no extension.
Best for: buyers researching Meta creatives at volume in obscure niches. Compare the field in AdSpy alternatives.
8. SocialPeta itself, on a demo
Worth saying plainly: if you are running paid acquisition across several countries and your problem is genuinely cross-market creative intelligence, book the demo. Nothing at $22 or $49 a month replicates 1.7 billion creatives across 80 countries. The reason to leave is almost never that SocialPeta is bad. It is that the job you brought it is smaller and more specific than the one it was built for.
The job most Shopify sellers actually have
Here is the reframe that saves people a lot of money.
Global ad intelligence answers "what is the market doing." Almost nobody selling on Shopify wakes up with that question. They wake up with a much narrower one: that store is beating me, what is it running right now? Which theme. Which apps. How deep the catalogue goes. What it charges. Whether it is buying Facebook ads this week.
The threads back this up. A seller in r/dropship explaining how to find successful Shopify stores described the turning point plainly: "I used to ask a ton of people to review my store and tell me how to fix it. Then, someone told me to start analyzing other successful Shopify stores. Everything changed that day." That is store research, and a creative database structurally cannot do it.
Koala Inspector does exactly that job, and the parts most people need cost nothing.
Read the app stack. App detection is free and takes one click. You see every app the store runs, grouped by category, which tells you how it converts: which review app carries the social proof, which email platform runs the flows, which upsell app sits in the cart. Those choices cost the owner months of testing and a real monthly bill, and you get the shortlist for free. Sellers compare that bill constantly, including a whole r/shopify thread asking sub-$1m stores what apps they run and what they pay.
A benchmark helps you read what you find. In Koala's own data, across the Shopify stores it tracks, the most common app is Judge.me Product Reviews on 2,376 storefronts, then Klaviyo for email and SMS on 1,901, Shopify Inbox on 1,008, Klarna's on-site messaging on 1,003, and PageFly on 848. Those are the stores Koala tracks rather than all of Shopify, so read them as a picture of what serious stores in this sample rely on. Against that backdrop, an unusual app in a competitor's stack becomes interesting: it is either a real edge or a mistake, and both are worth knowing.
Check the theme. Theme detection is free too, with a link straight to that theme in the Shopify theme store. Across the stores Koala tracks, Trademark leads on 904 storefronts, followed by Dawn on 754, Horizon on 414, Impulse on 283 and Rise on 228. If the store outselling you sits on a paid premium theme, the layout you are staring at is buyable rather than bespoke.

Open the catalogue and the pricing. Browse the full product list or filter to likely best-sellers, with images, prices, variations, the price range across the catalogue and the date the first product went live. This is how you find out whether the ad you saw was pushing the store's hero product or an outlier, and whether the catalogue is a real business or a test.
See the ads it is running. Ad Campaigns costs 2 tokens and splits into Google and Facebook or Instagram tabs, with the URL, title, description and tags on each campaign card. So the creative half of what you came to SocialPeta for is still there, scoped to the one store you care about. Our page on Koala Inspector for ad tracking goes through that workflow properly.
Track it over time. Add the store to Shop Tracking and Koala records what changes across more than ten event types, so a price drop reaches you the week it happens.
The whole first pass is free. Store analysis, app detection, theme detection and product research cost zero tokens on the free plan, no card, so you can run this across ten competitors before deciding whether any of it is worth paying for. Our guide to spying on Shopify competitors walks the full routine.
What sellers say about Koala Inspector
Verified reviews from the Chrome Web Store.
“Application that helps with dropshipping.”
“this has saved me quite a bit of time, great app”
Both quotes come from the Koala Inspector reviews on the Chrome Web Store.
How to choose
Name the question you are stuck on and the answer falls out.
"Which creative concepts are working in my category, across markets?" That is SocialPeta's home ground, and BigSpy at $149 is the closest published price to it. AdSpy if the category is Meta-only and obscure, PiPiADS if your buyers live on TikTok.
"Is this specific brand advertising right now?" Meta Ad Library, free, thirty seconds.
"How is this store built, and can I build one like it?" Koala Inspector. Theme, app stack, catalogue, pricing, traffic, its own campaigns, tracked over time.
Plenty of sellers end up running two tools, one for creatives and one for stores. If you already pay for a creative database, the upgrade that changes your week is rarely a bigger creative database. It is closing the gap between the ad you found and the business behind it.
SocialPeta alternatives FAQ
Straight answers to the questions sellers ask alongside this one.
How much does SocialPeta cost?+
SocialPeta publishes no price. Its site sells through Get Started and Book A Demo buttons with no plan table anywhere, and Capterra lists its starting price as Contact vendor with no free trial. That is enterprise practice: the number arrives after a sales call and is usually quoted per seat and per market rather than off a public page. If a published price matters to you, every other tool on this list has one, starting at $22 a month for Koala Inspector Premium and $29.90 for Dropispy Premium.
What is the best free SocialPeta alternative?+
Koala Inspector for store research and Meta's Ad Library for creatives, and they answer different halves of the job. Koala Inspector's free plan gives you 15 tokens a month with no card, and the features most people want cost no tokens at all: store analysis, app detection, theme detection, product browsing and best-sellers. Meta's Ad Library is free and shows every ad currently running across Meta's products. BigSpy has a third free option, capped at 5 searches and 20 downloads a day on Facebook only.
Does SocialPeta have a Chrome extension?+
SocialPeta runs as a web platform and lists no browser extension on its site. If you want research that appears while you are already looking at a competitor's store, you need an extension such as Koala Inspector, Minea or BigSpy's ad saver. Koala Inspector is the one of those built specifically around Shopify stores rather than ad creatives.
Is SocialPeta good for Shopify dropshipping?+
It can be, at the scale it was designed for. SocialPeta lists e-commerce among the six sectors it serves and its database runs to more than 1.7 billion creatives across over 80 countries, so a team buying media across many markets gets real value from it. A single-operator Shopify store usually needs something narrower: what one competitor sells, at what prices, on which theme, with which apps, and whether they are advertising this week. That is store intelligence, and Koala Inspector does it free.
Which SocialPeta alternative shows a store's apps and theme?+
Koala Inspector, and it is the only tool in this comparison that does. Open any Shopify store and app detection lists every installed app grouped by category, while theme detection names the active theme and links to it in the Shopify theme store. Both are free features with no token cost and no card required. Ad databases stop at the creative and the landing page URL, so everything about how the store is built sits on the other side of that link.
How accurate are the traffic and sales numbers?+
Treat them as modelled estimates, the same caution that applies to any competitor revenue figure from any tool, ours included. They are built to compare stores against each other and to spot direction over time, so a store showing three times another store's estimated traffic is meaningfully bigger. Products, prices, apps and themes are a different class of data, because those reflect what the store actually publishes.
Start with the free half
Before you book a demo to find out what an enterprise ad platform costs, spend twenty minutes reading the store that is actually beating you.
Install Koala Inspector free from the Chrome Web Store, open that competitor, and see its theme, app stack, catalogue and pricing in one click. No card, no trial clock, no sales call. When you want the traffic profile, the store's own ad campaigns and change tracking on top, Premium is $22 a month for 220 tokens and up to 50 tracked stores. Then keep going with our guides to finding a store's best-sellers, the most popular Shopify apps and the most-used Shopify themes.
