7 Best Peeksta Alternatives for Product Research and Sourcing

The best Peeksta alternatives at a glance

Koala Inspector is the best Peeksta alternative for most Shopify sellers. It is free to start, it reads any storefront's theme, apps, catalogue and price range in one click, and its Find Retailers lookup shows who else sells a product you have shortlisted. Winning Hunter, Dropship.io, Sell The Trend, PPSPY, Ecomhunt and Minea cover the paid end.

Peeksta sells one subscription that promises product discovery and sourcing together. Here is how it compares with seven alternatives on what each is built for and what the vendor publishes as a starting price.

The loop Peeksta covers half of

Product research has three steps and most tools stop after the first.

Step one: spot the product. Peeksta is good here, and so are Dropship.io, Sell The Trend and Ecomhunt. You get a feed of items with sales signals attached and a shortlist by the end of an afternoon.

Step two: find out who else is already selling it. This is where the money is made or lost, and it is where the category goes quiet. Sellers say so constantly. One r/dropshipping thread asks flat out how long people spend on supplier research before pulling the trigger, with the poster describing "2-3 hours minimum just figuring out who even makes what I'm looking for, then another chunk of time trying to decide which of those suppliers is worth contacting. By the time I'm actually reaching out I'm already kind of burned out on the product idea." Another asks for dropshipping tools that actually help with suppliers and fulfillment, opening with "I've been struggling more on the supplier and fulfillment side lately than anything else."

Step three: decide whether the subscription earns its place. A tool that hands you products but leaves step two entirely manual is charging you for the easy half.

A generic subscription dashboard on one side, a live storefront opened into its theme, apps and priced products on the other

The supplier question is the loudest recurring problem in Shopify and dropshipping discussion, by a distance. It shows up as "Struggling to find a reliable supplier (AliExpress vs Alibaba vs CJ?)", as "How does anyone find a supplier when they're just starting out????" where the poster reports that the US-based AliExpress options they found were arbitraging from Amazon, and as a request on r/dropshipping for a straight list of dropshipping suppliers. Over on the Shopify Community, merchants who are already trading ask how to track which suppliers are actually reliable versus which ones cause the delays and refunds.

Here is the part that makes step two urgent. Between 22 June and 24 August 2026, the trending-product signals in Koala's own data covered 442 products across 442 different stores, and no store appeared twice. Winners are scattered across hundreds of small operators rather than concentrated in a handful of brands. Over the same window, 351 of the 654 stores in Koala's ad-activity data had Facebook ads running. So the product you just shortlisted is very likely already being paid for by someone, and knowing who they are and what they charge is the difference between entering a market and joining a queue.

Is there a free Peeksta alternative?

Yes, and it is the honest place to start.

Koala Inspector has a permanent free plan: 15 tokens a month, no credit card. The core research costs no tokens at all, so store analysis, app detection, theme detection, product browsing and best-sellers are unlimited on the free tier. You can take apart competitor stores all month for nothing.

Capterra's Peeksta listing records a free version alongside the paid tiers and notes that a free trial is not available. Sell The Trend and PPSPY both run no-card or card-required trials rather than free plans. Ecomhunt sells from $23 a month with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Everything else on this list is paid from day one.

The 7 best Peeksta alternatives

1. Koala Inspector

Koala Inspector is a Chrome extension that takes apart any Shopify store you open. It is the answer to the question a product feed cannot finish: you have found something that looks like it is selling, and now you need to know who is selling it, how their store is built, and what they charge.

Open the extension on a storefront and you get the active theme with a link straight to it, every installed app grouped by type, the full catalogue with likely best-sellers, the price range across that catalogue, and the store's creation date, category and locale. All of that is free and costs no tokens.

Find Retailers is the feature that closes the sourcing loop. Point it at a product and it returns other retailers, marketplaces and suppliers carrying that same item, with their links, prices and ratings, plus a "Search in AliExpress" shortcut. There is a button on every product card, and you can right-click any product image on a page and choose Find Retailers from the context menu, so it works on a competitor's product page without breaking your flow. It costs 2 tokens, which means seven lookups a month on the free plan and 110 on Premium.

That turns the two hours of "figuring out who even makes this" into a lookup you run while you are still looking at the product. It also answers the saturation question in the same move: if a dozen retailers already carry the item at a price you cannot beat, you have your answer before you have spent anything on ads.

One product card fanning out to five other stores and marketplaces selling the same item, each with a price and a rating

Spend more tokens and the picture deepens. Site Traffic (3 tokens) gives monthly visits with the month-over-month change, bounce rate, sources, top keywords, social distribution, demographics and geography. Ad Campaigns (2 tokens) shows the Google and Facebook or Instagram ads tied to the store you are on, each with its URL, title, description and tags. Product Trends (2 tokens) surfaces what is gaining momentum. AI Shop Chat (1 token) answers questions about the store in front of you. Shop Tracking (15 tokens per store) re-scans a competitor on a schedule and logs apps added or removed, theme swaps, new and deleted products and price changes to a per-shop feed.

Pricing: Free with 15 tokens a month and no card. Premium is $22 a month with 220 renewing tokens, up to 50 tracked stores and priority support. Token packs are one-time and never expire: 10 for $3.99, 25 for $6.99, 100 for $11.99.

Best for: sellers who want the store and the supplier behind a product, not another feed to scroll. If sourcing is your bottleneck, start with the guide to finding dropshipping suppliers and run Find Retailers alongside it.

2. Winning Hunter

Winning Hunter is the closest thing on this list to Peeksta's ad-first pitch, at a bigger scale. It describes itself as an all-in-one ecommerce intelligence platform covering Facebook, TikTok and Pinterest ad libraries, a store tracker, a store explorer, a Shopify sales tracker, AI reverse ad search and exploding trends, claiming access to over 300 million ads and 5 million stores.

Basic is $49 a month with Facebook Ads, TikTok Shop, 25 tracked stores and 2 tracked brands. Standard is $79 a month and adds Pinterest and TikTok ads with 30 tracked brands. Enterprise is $249 a month with every platform, 300 tracked brands and weekly one-to-one calls. Quarterly billing saves 15% and yearly saves 40%, and the trial needs no card.

Best for: media buyers who want creative volume across three networks in one dashboard. We break it down further in Winning Hunter: everything you need to know.

3. Dropship.io

Dropship.io is the sales-estimate specialist. It tracks Shopify and TikTok Shop sales, keeps a Meta ad library with an advertiser tracker, runs a creator library and does competitor research, all metered by credits.

Basic is $39 a month with 10,000 product-library credits, 5,000 shop-library credits, 10 tracked TikTok shops, 10 tracked advertisers and 20 competitor searches a day. Standard at $59 a month lifts that to 25,000 product credits and unlimited competitor searches. Premium is $99 a month with 50,000 product credits and 50 tracked advertisers. Annual billing drops the three to $26, $34 and $49 a month, billed up front.

Credits are the thing to size for. A heavy research month on Basic runs out well before the month does.

Best for: sellers who want revenue estimates attached to every product and store. Compare the two approaches head to head in Dropship.io vs Koala Inspector.

4. Sell The Trend

Sell The Trend is the most complete attempt on this list at running the whole loop inside one subscription: product discovery through its NEXUS AI research, supplier links, one-click import and its own SellShop storefront on the two upper tiers.

Lite is $29.97 a month, discounted from $59.97, with 10 NEXUS AI uses a day, 1 store, 25 products and 5 monitoring slots. Essential is $49.97 a month with unlimited AI research, 500 products and 100 monitoring slots. Pro is $99.97 a month with 3 stores, 1,000 products and 250 monitoring slots. Annual billing brings those to $19.97, $32.97 and $66.64 a month. The trial is free but asks for a payment method at signup, which the vendor says is anti-fraud rather than a charge.

Best for: beginners who want research, sourcing and importing in one place and are happy to work inside the vendor's own supplier network. Read the fuller comparison in Sell The Trend alternatives.

5. PPSPY

PPSPY is built around Shopify sales estimates and store teardowns: competitor sales reports over a rolling 15 days, product discovery, store filtering by revenue, search volume and keywords, one-product-store discovery, theme research and traffic-source analysis.

Standard is $39 a month or $328 a year, with 30 trackers and 10,000 monthly credits. Pro is $99 a month or $832 a year, with 100 trackers and 100,000 credits. Business is $299 a month or $2,512 a year, with 300 trackers and 500,000 credits. Every tier includes data export, creative downloads and the Chrome extension, and registration alone gets you a trial with no card.

Best for: sellers tracking a defined list of competitor stores who want a revenue number beside each one. The head-to-head is in Koala Inspector vs PPSPY.

6. Ecomhunt

Ecomhunt takes the opposite approach to a searchable database: a curated feed of hand-picked products with the analysis already done, which suits people who find an open database paralysing.

Basic is $23 a month, or $279 billed yearly, with two years of product-database access, 50 live trending products and 10 tracker sessions. Pro is $39 a month, or $468 yearly, with unlimited feature access, 80 live trending products, 100 tracker sessions and a one-to-one consultant. Suite is $49 a month, or $588 yearly, with 120 live trending products, 500 tracker sessions and unlimited AliExpress data. All plans carry a 30-day money-back guarantee with no contract.

Best for: sellers who want a short daily shortlist rather than a database to filter. There is a full breakdown in Ecomhunt: everything you need to know.

7. Minea

Minea is the ad-library option with the widest network coverage, spanning Meta, TikTok and Pinterest, with product and shop listings, a brand tracker and influencer placements alongside.

Starter is $49 a month, or $39 a month billed quarterly, with 10 AI ad analyses and 10 AI transcripts a month and 50 notifications. Premium is $99 a month, or $79 quarterly, with 50 AI analyses, 50 transcripts, 100 notifications and 10 shops for notifications. Business is $199 a month, or $158 quarterly, with unlimited AI analyses, transcripts and notifications. The AI allowances are metered monthly, so read them before you assume a tier covers your volume.

Best for: dropshippers whose products come out of creatives rather than sales data. More detail in Minea alternatives and Koala Inspector vs Minea.

What the entry prices actually look like

Bar chart comparing the cheapest paid monthly plan across Peeksta and seven alternatives

Peeksta's $19.99 Starter tier is the cheapest paid entry on the list, and Koala Inspector's $22 Premium sits just above it. The gap that matters is below the chart: Koala Inspector is the only tool here with a permanent free plan that includes its core research, so the real comparison for someone still validating a first product is $19.99 a month against nothing.

At the other end, four tools cluster between $39 and $49 for their opening tier, and each one climbs steeply. PPSPY Business is $299 a month, Winning Hunter Enterprise is $249, Minea Business is $199. Those are real budgets for a store that has proven a product, and dead weight for a store that has not.

When Peeksta is still the right call

Do not switch out of habit. Peeksta holds its ground in two situations.

You produce your own creatives and want the tooling in one bill. Peeksta bundles AI video, thumbnail and product-description generation with its research feed. Buying an ad database and a creative suite separately usually costs more than $19.99 a month.

You want a single dashboard and a single login. Running a browser extension for store reads plus an ad library for creative volume is two tools and two habits. Some sellers genuinely prefer one screen, and that preference is worth respecting.

If either describes you, keep Peeksta and add store-level research beside it rather than replacing it. Our full breakdown of the platform is in Peeksta: everything you need to know.

How to run the whole loop this week

Three passes, and the first two cost nothing.

Monday: build the shortlist. Pick five products you would consider testing. A feed tool gets you there faster, and so does an hour in the ad libraries.

Tuesday: find the sellers. Open a store already carrying each product and read it with Koala Inspector. Free, and in about a minute you have the catalogue depth, the price range, the app stack and the theme. Then run Find Retailers on the product itself and count how many other retailers and suppliers come back, at what prices and with what ratings. Two tokens each, five products, ten tokens. That fits inside the free plan.

Wednesday: kill four of the five. A product carried by twenty retailers at prices below your landed cost will burn your ad budget on someone else's behalf. The product with two or three credible suppliers and a price ladder you can live inside is the one to spend on.

That routine is what a subscription is supposed to buy you. You can run it before you buy one.

Peeksta alternatives FAQ

The questions sellers ask before they switch tools.

What are some good alternatives to Koala Inspector?+

The closest paid tools are Peeksta, Winning Hunter, Dropship.io, Sell The Trend, PPSPY, Ecomhunt and Minea. Each is a subscription dashboard built around a searchable product or ad database, priced, as of August 2026, from $19.99 a month for Peeksta's Starter tier up to $49 a month for Winning Hunter Basic and Minea Starter. None of them reads the storefront in front of you the way a browser extension does, which is why sellers who add one of these usually keep Koala Inspector running alongside it rather than switching off.

What is the best Peeksta alternative?+

Koala Inspector, for most Shopify sellers. It is a free Chrome extension that reads any storefront's active theme, installed apps, full catalogue and price range with no tokens spent, and its Find Retailers lookup returns other retailers, marketplaces and suppliers selling the same product for 2 tokens. Premium is $22 a month with 220 tokens and 50 tracked stores. If a larger ad library is what you actually need, Winning Hunter starts at $49 a month and Minea at $49 a month.

Is there a free Peeksta alternative?+

Yes. Koala Inspector has a permanent free plan with 15 tokens a month and no credit card, and its store analysis, app detection, theme detection, product browsing and best-sellers cost no tokens at all. Sell The Trend and PPSPY offer trials rather than free plans, and Ecomhunt sells from $23 a month with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Capterra's Peeksta listing records a free version but no free trial.

How much does Peeksta cost?+

Capterra's Peeksta listing publishes three flat monthly tiers: Starter at $19.99, Advanced at $49.99 and Premium at $99.99, with a free version and no free trial. Peeksta's own site is the authority on current plans and prices in this category move often, so confirm the figure on peeksta.com before you subscribe.

Does Peeksta help you find suppliers?+

Peeksta is built around finding products and the ads selling them, and it adds AI tools for producing your own creatives. Working out who else already sells a product you have shortlisted is a separate lookup. Koala Inspector's Find Retailers covers exactly that step: point it at a product and it returns other retailers, marketplaces and suppliers carrying the same item with their links, prices and ratings, plus an AliExpress shortcut, for 2 tokens.

Which Peeksta alternative is best for sales estimates?+

Dropship.io at $39 a month on monthly billing, or PPSPY at $39 a month, are the two priced squarely at Shopify sales tracking. Dropship.io sells credit quotas across its product, shop, ad and creator libraries, and PPSPY sells tracker slots, 30 on Standard and 300 on Business. Treat every modelled revenue number from any vendor as an estimate rather than accounting.

Do I need a paid product research tool at all?+

Not to start. The two research steps that decide most outcomes are reading the stores already selling your product and finding out who supplies it, and both are available on Koala Inspector's free plan. A paid subscription earns its place once you are testing enough products a month that a curated feed or a large ad library saves you real hours. Buying one before that point funds someone else's research.

Find the seller behind the product, free

A product feed tells you something is selling. Koala Inspector tells you who is selling it: the theme, every installed app, the whole catalogue with best-sellers and price range, the traffic profile, the Google and Meta ads tied to that store, and, with Find Retailers, the other retailers, marketplaces and suppliers carrying the same item with their prices and ratings.

Install Koala Inspector free and run the loop on your next shortlist. No credit card, 15 tokens a month, and the store, app, theme and product research never costs a token.
