  • Low upfront cost. You can launch with a free or low-cost theme and no inventory if you use a POD supplier.
  • POD integrations. Apps for Printify, Printful, Gelato, and others connect directly to your Shopify product catalog and handle fulfillment automatically.
  • Flexible pricing control. You set your own retail prices and margins. Shopify does not cap what you can charge.
  • Multi-channel selling. Shopify lets you sell through Instagram, TikTok Shop, and Facebook from the same backend.

For print-on-demand, your choice of supplier has real quality consequences. Fulfillment times range from 48 hours (SPOD) to 2 or more weeks during peak seasons at some larger suppliers. Print quality and consistency vary by provider and print method (DTG vs. screen print vs. embroidery). Running test orders before you list a product is not optional if you want to protect your reviews.

That presentation supports the price point.

For t-shirts specifically, size charts, material information, and customer photos in reviews do real work in reducing hesitation before purchase.

A short analysis across 1,076,562 Shopify stores found the short-sleeve unisex t-shirt is listed in 236 stores at prices ranging from $16 to $59. That spread tells you the ceiling is real: consumers do pay $40 to $60 for a t-shirt from a brand they trust. The floor, however, is brutal for margins.
