Best Anstrex Alternatives

The best Anstrex alternatives at a glance

The best Anstrex alternative depends on the job. For Shopify store teardowns, Koala Inspector is the pick: it is free to start and reads a competitor's theme, apps, catalogue and pricing the moment you open their storefront. For native ad research, Adbeat and AdPlexity are the closest matches. For the cheapest broad ad coverage, SpyPush starts at $49 a month.

Here is how Anstrex and seven alternatives compare on what they actually cover, what the vendor publishes as a starting price, and whether the tool works inside your browser.

Anstrex is good at what it was built for. It sells five separate products, Native, Push, Pops, In-Stream and Dropship, and the native side alone claims 27 ad networks and 14 million-plus ads across 64 countries. If you buy traffic on Taboola, Outbrain or MGID, that library is genuinely hard to replace.

The catch for a Shopify seller is that none of it answers the question you actually opened a competitor's site to ask.

Why Shopify sellers look past Anstrex

Three things send store owners looking, and none of them are about quality.

You pay per channel, and most channels are irrelevant to you. Anstrex prices each product on its own. Native is $79.99 a month, Push and Pops are $89.99 a month each, and the Native plus Push plus Pops combo runs $219.99 a month. A dropshipper buying Meta and TikTok traffic is renting access to push notification networks and pop-under inventory they will never touch.

There is no trial and no refund path. The FAQ on Anstrex's own product pages is blunt about it: "We don't have a free trial," with a demo booking offered instead, and "We don't offer refunds for product dissatisfaction or unsuitability for your needs." Month one is a committed spend, which is a real barrier when you are still deciding whether native traffic belongs in your mix.

It stops at the ad. You can rip a competitor's landing page, but you cannot see which Shopify theme they run, which apps power their upsells and reviews, how many products sit in the catalogue, or what their price ladder looks like. That is the layer that changes what you build.

Sellers say this out loud constantly. In one r/dropship thread on finding successful Shopify stores, the whole discussion is about locating strong stores and pulling apart how they work, not about which creative ran last Tuesday. Over on r/PPC, a thread on native competitive intelligence tools narrows the serious native options to Adbeat, AdPlexity and WhatRunsWhere, and warns that most write-ups on the topic are affiliate content. Both are worth reading before you spend.

Is there a free Anstrex alternative?

Yes, and it is the honest place to start.

Koala Inspector has a free plan: 15 tokens a month, no credit card. Its core store research costs no tokens at all, so shop analysis, app detection, theme detection, product browsing and best-sellers are unlimited on the free tier. You can teardown competitor stores all month without paying anything.

Anstrex has one free entry point of its own, and it is narrow: Anstrex Dropship lists a $0 per store tier capped at 5 product imports and 5 order fulfilments a month. That is a product importer, not ad intelligence. The native, push and pop spy products have no free tier at all.

Everything else on this list is paid from day one.

7 best Anstrex alternatives

Bar chart comparing the cheapest published monthly plan across Anstrex alternatives

1. Koala Inspector

Koala Inspector is a Chrome extension that takes apart any Shopify store you open. It is the answer for the job most people bring to an ad spy tool and cannot finish there: you found a store that is clearly working, and now you want to know how it is built.

Open the extension on a storefront and you get the store's active theme with a link straight to it, every installed app grouped by type, the full product catalogue with likely best-sellers, the price range across that catalogue, and the store's creation date and locale. Spend tokens and you go deeper: a full traffic profile with sources, top keywords, geography and demographics; live product trends; a Find Retailers lookup that locates other sellers and suppliers for a product; and an AI chat that answers questions about the store in front of you.

It also closes the loop back to advertising. The Ad Campaigns screen shows the Google and Facebook/Instagram ads tied to the store you are looking at, split into tabs, with each campaign's URL, title, description and tags. So you can start from the storefront and work outward to the creative, which is the reverse of how an ad database works and usually the more useful direction. There is a whole page on that workflow at Koala Inspector for ad tracking.

Shop Tracking is the feature that compounds. Add a competitor at 15 tokens and Koala re-scans the store on a schedule, logging apps added or removed, theme swaps, new and deleted products, price changes and variant changes to a per-shop feed. Premium tracks up to 50 stores.

Pricing: Free with 15 tokens a month and no credit card. Premium is $22 a month with 220 renewing tokens, 50 tracked stores and priority support. Token packs are one-time and never expire: 10 for $3.99, 25 for $6.99, 100 for $11.99.

Best for: Shopify and dropshipping sellers who want the store behind the ad. If you are coming from Anstrex specifically, this is the coverage you were missing rather than a cheaper version of what you had.

2. Adbeat

Adbeat is the closest thing to Anstrex Native at the enterprise end. It indexes display, programmatic and native advertising, and its real differentiator is publisher-side data: you can search by advertiser, ad or publisher, view publisher placement URLs, and see where a competitor's budget is actually landing rather than only what the creative said.

The Standard plan runs $249 a month with 90 days of data. Advanced at $399 a month adds country filters, competitor alerts, ad-spend density and three years of history. That history is the reason media buyers pay it: a three-year view tells you which campaigns a competitor kept, and a 90-day view mostly tells you what they are testing.

Best for: media buyers running real display and native budgets who need publisher placements and long history. It is a step up in price from Anstrex Native, not a saving.

3. AdPlexity Native

AdPlexity sells its channels separately, the same way Anstrex does, and AdPlexity Native is the direct comparison. It is $249 a month billed monthly, or $208 a month on the yearly plan.

What you get is campaign-level native intelligence with landing page capture, which is the same shape as Anstrex Native at roughly three times the monthly cost. Anstrex's own comparison table on its native page puts AdPlexity beside it deliberately, which tells you how the vendor sees the matchup.

Best for: affiliates and media buyers who already know native works for them and want a second data source alongside Anstrex rather than a replacement.

4. SpyPush

SpyPush is the budget answer to Anstrex's push and pop products. It sells SpyPush, SpyNative, SpyPop and SpyAdult at $49 each, with a SpyCombo bundle of all four listed at $99, down from $196. Each module covers a named list of networks: Propellerads, RichPush and ClickStar on the push side, Revcontent, MGID, Taboola, Outbrain, Adnow, Adblade and Adskeeper on native.

Against Anstrex Push at $89.99 a month, SpyPush is roughly half the price, and the four-module combo undercuts Anstrex's $219.99 three-way bundle. The libraries are smaller, which Anstrex's own comparison table is happy to point out. If your budget is the deciding factor and you mainly need to see what is running, the trade is reasonable.

Best for: affiliates testing push and pop traffic who want coverage without a $90 per channel commitment.

5. Minea

Minea is where the list turns toward ecommerce. It covers Meta ads, product listings, shop listings, a brand tracker and influencer placements, and it ships a Chrome extension, so research reaches you while you browse rather than only inside a dashboard.

Starter is $49 a month, or $39 a month paid quarterly. Premium at $99 a month adds unlimited ad access, 10 tracked shops and higher AI limits, and Business is $199 a month. The AI features are metered per month rather than unlimited, so read the allowances before you assume a tier covers your volume.

Best for: dropshippers doing Meta creative research and product discovery in one place. It replaces none of Anstrex's native coverage and was never trying to. We cover it in more depth in Minea alternatives and Koala Inspector vs Minea.

6. Dropship.io

Dropship.io is built around Shopify sales rather than ad networks. It tracks product and store sales, keeps a Meta ad library and advertiser tracker, and runs a Chrome extension for research on the page you are on.

Monthly billing is Basic $39, Standard $59 and Premium $99. Paying yearly drops those to $26, $34 and $49 a month respectively, billed up front. Plans are credit-based, from 10,000 credits on Basic to 50,000 on Premium, so heavy research months are the thing to size for.

Best for: sellers who want sales estimates and product discovery together. Compare the two approaches directly in Dropship.io vs Koala Inspector.

7. Anstrex Dropship

Worth separating out, because plenty of people searching for an Anstrex alternative are actually looking at the wrong Anstrex product. Anstrex Dropship is not an ad spy tool. It is a product importer with a Chrome extension that pushes items into Shopify, WooCommerce or BigCommerce, with pricing rules, automated ordering and inventory management.

Pricing is per store: free with 5 product imports a month, Standard at $29.99 a month per store, Premium at $49.99 a month per store with team access for up to five users and imports from nine suppliers.

Best for: dropshippers who need sourcing and fulfilment automation. If competitor research is what you came for, this is the wrong shelf.

When Anstrex is still the right call

Do not switch out of habit. Anstrex holds its ground in three situations:

  • You buy native traffic. 27 native networks in one library, with landing page ripping and competitor alerts, is a real asset. Adbeat and AdPlexity both cost $249 a month against Anstrex Native's $79.99, so Anstrex is the cheapest serious way into native.
  • You buy push or pop traffic. Push and pop inventory is barely covered elsewhere at any price. SpyPush is the only genuine budget rival on this list, and it indexes less.
  • You are an affiliate, not a store owner. Anstrex's affiliate network detection and CPC bid history are aimed squarely at performance marketers running offers. A Shopify brand rarely needs either.

If two of those three describe you, keep Anstrex and add store-level research alongside it rather than replacing it.

How to choose

Start by naming the job.

If the job is native, push or pop ad research, stay in that category. Anstrex is the cheapest credible option, Adbeat gives you publisher placements and three years of history at $249 a month, and SpyPush is the budget route at $49 per module.

If the job is Meta creative research, Minea at $49 a month or Dropship.io at $39 a month are the two ecommerce-shaped picks, and both run in Chrome.

If the job is understanding a Shopify competitor, which is what most people mean when they say they want to spy on a store, install Koala Inspector. Free plan, no card, and the theme, apps, catalogue and pricing appear the moment you land on the storefront. The guide to spying on Shopify competitors walks through the full routine.

Most sellers end up with two tools rather than one, and that is the sane outcome. Something for the ad layer, and something that tells you how the store behind the ad is actually built.

FAQ

What is the best Anstrex alternative? It depends on the job. For Shopify store research, Koala Inspector reads a competitor's theme, installed apps, full catalogue, pricing and traffic the moment you open their storefront, and it starts free. For native ad campaigns specifically, Adbeat and AdPlexity Native are the closest like-for-like tools, both at $249 a month. SpyPush covers push, native and pop networks from $49 a month per module.

Is there a free Anstrex alternative? Yes. Koala Inspector's free plan gives you 15 tokens a month with no credit card, and its store analysis, app detection, theme detection and product research cost no tokens at all. Anstrex Dropship lists a free tier capped at 5 product imports a month, but the native, push and pop spy products are paid only.

Does Anstrex have a free trial? No. The FAQ on Anstrex's own product pages states that it does not offer a free trial and suggests booking a one-on-one demo instead. The same FAQ says Anstrex does not issue refunds for product dissatisfaction, so the first month is a committed spend.

How much does Anstrex cost? Anstrex sells each channel separately. Its product pages list Native at $79.99 a month, Push at $89.99, Pops at $89.99 and In-Stream at $39.99, with a Native plus Push bundle at $139.99 and a Native, Push and Pops combo at $219.99 a month. Anstrex Dropship is priced per store at free, $29.99 or $49.99 a month.

Does Anstrex work for Shopify store research? Only partly. Anstrex is built around ad networks, so you get creatives and landing pages. It does not report a store's Shopify theme, its installed app stack, its catalogue with likely best-sellers, or its estimated traffic. A Shopify research extension such as Koala Inspector surfaces those.

Does Anstrex have a Chrome extension? Only for Anstrex Dropship, its product importer. The native, push, pop and in-stream spy products run as web apps at app.anstrex.com. Koala Inspector, Minea and Dropship.io all ship Chrome extensions.

Get the store data Anstrex cannot show you

Ad libraries tell you a campaign existed. Koala Inspector tells you what the store behind it is running: the theme, every app, the whole catalogue with best-sellers and price range, estimated traffic with sources and geography, and the Google and Meta ads tied to that same store. Track up to 50 competitors and get a change feed when they swap a theme, add an app, launch a product or move a price.

Install Koala Inspector free and take apart the next store you open. No credit card, 15 tokens a month, and the theme, app and product research never costs a token.
